2011.04.06 Japan: Rising, a fundraiser in NYC


In benefit the survivors of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster an auction will be held on the 28th of April in NYC. Two works has been donated from the studio. Be there and put a bid on them!



2011.03.28 Arctic paper


Today and tomorrow we are photographing an exciting series huge still lifes for Arctic paper. A fantastic fun and colorful warehouse with light and patterns. We love it.

Making new images for the awesome headphone brand Urbanears. Together with set builder Tobias Allanson we got down to it with pins and paper. Lots of fun and the fruits of the work will be under commissions soon.

2010.12.15 The Walrus


In Stockholm photographing a series of images for the Canadian Magazine, The Walrus, for a story about Stieg Larsson, his books and Expo magazine. Besides police cars, and being hassled by security, we photographed the countrys biggest archive on organized racism, and a few of the locations from the movies in the "Millenium trilogy The Walrus who also works with Edward Burtynsky, seems to be a very interesting magazine. Check Mr Burtynskys TED talk here. It^s worth it, as always with TED talks.



2010.12.05 On assignment in the austrian alps.


Making the new images for the Amsterdam based clothing company, Protest, in Mayrhofen, Austria. Not bad with a few feet of new snow and time off snowboarding as well!

2010.10.27 Even more waste!


These days before the snow starts to fall is a good time to get some more work done on The waste management series. This week working on a place with heaps of scrap wood. It is really mind boggeling to get a deeper understanding about how this all works in our society. Came across this clip by Zizek worth watching.

David Lynch came to Stockholm to talk about Trancedental Meditation. Got the opportunity to meet him and do some photographs. Such a legend and one very inspiring person. He also come over to the neighbourhood for a special celebration. See video here. Photo: Pierre Wikberg

Making new images for the Urbanears spring collection and for the collaboration with Apple in the US. Exciting with so much cables! The conversation during the shoot somehow got into the legend of Rat kings.

2010.07.21 With Burton in Saas Fee


Continuing the european leg of the Burton womens campaign tour. Working with a funky mish mash mix of props to create an inside/outside feel. In Saas fee we got great help from the locals such as Tilo and friends. Also worth mentioning is first assistant Nicklas local knowledge that saved us from drowning in swiss cheese fondu. That is the knowledge one needs at least 7-8 years living in Saas Fee to master. Thanks Nicklas! It dont save you from hitting your head on booms though (see pic). Anyways, the first ad of 6 is out now in Nylon magazine just hot from the presses, go check it out!



2010.07.15 In the city


Making the new campaign images for the shoe brand Gram. Making our way around the hot urban landscape of Stockholm. Making good use of the strong natural sunlight cutting the asphalt like razor blades.



2010.06.14 Nixon in Portland


In this massive 800 Square meter studio shooting tiny headphones in Portland. This town is great for productions like this feels a bit like an american version of Berlin. If you are ever in Portland be sure to head up east on Burnside to Heart coffee and roasting. The coffee was so good that some of the crew burst into tears and this is a guy that did not even cry watching Dancer in the dark!



2010.06.12 Mt Hood and blue skies, finally


Photographing the new womens campaign for Burton at Mt Hood, Oregon. Right on the spot were Jack Nicholson got lost in a maze in the movie The Shining. Redrum! After a wet and windy start it all turned out real sweet and everybody got tanned on their noses nicely. The girls behaved and the local photographer friend Neil Dacosta helped out making sure everything ran smoothly. Big thanks to Lance and Vanessa at Violette Design.

Working on second series of images for the clothing brand Protest. Using snowboarders as human tripods to shoot the clothes while snowboarding. Thanks to Metec productions and all the great people in Kläppen making it a delight to work there.

2010.02.27 More Urbanears


Working a few days on some new Urbanears campaign images. Some new colors and new products. Also the intern Tobias Rengman helped out all week making some coffee, getting important things and untangle stuff. Thanks Tobias and see you again in March!



2010.02.20 Storm in Stockholm


So much snow in Stockholm and -11°C. More than we have ever experienced in Stockholm. We are taking the opportunity to make some landscapes.

2009.12.11 On location in Sthlm with KesselsKramer


Photographing the campaign for the clothing company called Protest. Working together with Kessels Kramers Art director Ewoudt and producer Marla. Azerbadjanne (Jan Andreen) making it happen on location in Stockholm and a great crew of runners, helpers, electricians, riders and models. We thank you all!
4 days of location work in December in Stockholm can be quite something with only 3 hrs or so of something they call day light here.



2009.11.24 Directing new film project


Lovely getting out in the woods again. Working with a sort of moving still image. Very interesting. This time with so much gear a 35mm production requires at night, and that is quite a bit! Serious amount of carrying gear! Will do grading and editing the next couple of weeks. This production will probably see the light of day some time in spring 2010. Working with the skilled cinematographer David Grehn and renaissance man Allanson working around the set.



2009.10.28 Getting into the depth of this


Been photographing a few more days of large still lifes in the fall weather. What´s more beautiful than this flat natural light? Also, sadly, the last week of intern Crista who will now go back to Andorra. Hopefully she´ll be back soon!



2009.10.05 Photographing the new headphones brand Urbanears


Shooting and directing the new campaign and look book for the brand new headphone brand Urbanears. Together with the great interns Crista and Magnus with supervision from Magnus, the elder, it all went real well. Involving set builder Allanson again is always a delight.



2009.10.05 Vernissage in Dalarna


Vernissage for the show called Eternal return. Friday the 16/10 at 19:00 at the Magasinet in Falun, Sweden. Exhibiting the whole Lightyears series together with other artists, designers, stylists and creatives in general that grew up in the hometown Falun. During the day there will be talks and such.

In the making of a new series of X-large still lifes. Together with Tobias Allanson we build a large object of many objects. The series will be up under work soon!

ModArt Magazine, A Celebration of 20 Issues & All That Lay Ahead. Featured in a group show at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. Opening reception on the 14th of August 7-11PM.




2009.07.29 Film project


Been working on directing a little poetic film last few days. Together with Niklas Bergh, Samuel Axelsson, Pierre Wikberg and Johan Efrik. A free project on comission from KesselsKramer in Amsterdam and art director Ewoudt.

Working in the studio through out the next few days on a series of still lifes. Trying to create something that balances back and forth and looks like a thought.



2009.06.10 More Freitag


In Zurich for two days. Making some new Freitag imagery. Besides some nice work and sunshine -  a lovely afternoon swim in Limmat!



2009.06.06 Continuing the work


Continuing the work on a new series of images in the forest. It has been so exciting to work on these this last year. A bit of production for sure but it comes together in a good way. Probably these will see the light of day around January 2010. Thanks to Stefan Karlsson for putting in a solid day of work and helping out.



2009.05.09 With Selector magazine in Tokyo


The opening with Selector magazine was good fun! Showed selected works from the Lightyears series. Had a great turn out of interesting people from all over. Drinks were drank, and Karaoke was sung into the morning! Thanks evreybody that made it so amazing! Had some nice strolls in the area around the gallery in Aoyama. The Prada building by Herzog & de Meuron is amazing. The Louis Vuitton store is interesting as well with instalations and films by Takashi Murakami.



2009.04.22 Group show in Tokyo


The first stop of the Selector tour is in Tokyo, Japan. Opening reception on the 9th of May at the PLSMIS. Together with artists such as John Copeland, Nathan  Nedorostek, Taro Hirano, Paul Wong and Mario Hugo. Invitation here.
